StoatBoard is a directory for Stoat communities. These guidelines define what content and servers are permitted on the platform. Violations may result in listing removal, account suspension, or permanent bans. This policy applies to all listings, server descriptions, tags, icons, banners, and any other content submitted to the Service.
1. Zero-Tolerance Prohibited Content
The following content is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate permanent ban with no appeal:
- Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Any content that sexualises minors in any form. We report such content to relevant authorities (including NCMEC, Pharos in France).
- Terrorism and violent extremism: Content that promotes, glorifies, or facilitates acts of terrorism, genocide, or mass violence.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery ("revenge porn"): Sharing or linking to intimate content involving real persons without their explicit consent.
- Doxing: Publishing private personal information (home address, phone number, financial details, etc.) of individuals without their consent.
- Human trafficking: Content that facilitates exploitation, trafficking, or slavery.
2. Prohibited Content
The following content is prohibited and will be removed:
- Hate speech: Content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
- Harassment and threats: Content designed to harass, intimidate, or threaten specific individuals or groups.
- Illegal activities: Servers that facilitate or promote illegal activities (e.g., drug sales, fraud, hacking, piracy).
- Scams and deceptive content: Phishing, pyramid schemes, fake giveaways, or any content designed to deceive users for financial or personal gain.
- Malware and malicious links: Listing descriptions or invite links that lead to malware, phishing sites, or any harmful content.
- Spam: Duplicate listings, keyword stuffing, or any submission designed to game the directory rather than genuinely represent a community.
- Impersonation: Listings that falsely represent another server, organisation, or public figure.
- Copyright infringement: Using copyrighted images, text, or other material in listings without authorisation. See our DMCA / Takedown.
3. NSFW Content — Restricted
Adult content (NSFW) is permitted on StoatBoard under strict conditions:
- All NSFW servers must be explicitly marked as NSFW when submitting your listing. Failure to do so may result in immediate removal and account suspension.
- NSFW listings are hidden by default and only visible to users who have explicitly opted in.
- NSFW content must only involve adults (18+). Any NSFW content involving or appearing to involve minors will be treated as Zero-Tolerance content (see Section 1).
- NSFW server icons and banners displayed in the directory must not contain explicit imagery — they will be visible to all users regardless of NSFW filter settings.
4. Server Listing Standards
All server listings must meet the following standards to be eligible for inclusion in the directory:
- The listing must accurately describe the server. Misleading tags, categories, or descriptions to attract unrelated traffic are not permitted.
- Invite links must be valid and lead directly to the listed Stoat server. Redirects to external websites or phishing pages are prohibited.
- Server descriptions must be written in a readable language and contain meaningful content (minimum 10 characters).
- Tags must reflect the actual content and topic of the server. Tag manipulation (e.g., using unrelated popular tags) will result in listing removal.
- You must be an administrator or owner of the server you are listing.
5. Bump System Rules
- Each server may be bumped once per 2-hour cooldown period. Circumventing this limit (e.g., using multiple accounts, automated scripts) is prohibited and will result in account bans.
- Only authenticated users who are listed as administrators of the server may bump it.
- Coordinated bump manipulation (e.g., multiple people bumping unrelated servers to favour a specific server) is prohibited.
6. Reporting Violations
If you encounter content that violates this policy, please use the "Report" button available on every server listing page. For urgent matters or if the report form is unavailable, email us directly at [email protected].
When reporting, please include:
- The URL of the listing you are reporting
- The specific section of this policy violated
- A brief description of the violation
7. Enforcement and Appeals
StoatBoard moderators review all reports and take appropriate action. Enforcement actions include:
- Content removal or listing deactivation
- Warning issued to the account holder
- Temporary account suspension
- Permanent account ban (for severe or repeat violations)
If you believe moderation action was taken against your account in error, you may appeal by emailing [email protected] with the subject line "Appeal — [your username]". Appeals for Zero-Tolerance content (Section 1) are not accepted.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update these guidelines as the platform evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
